CommonGround volunteer Paula Peterson shares her recipe for Bread pudding French toast. 


Bread pudding French toast


  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 2 1/4 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups dry cubed French bread
  • French Toast ingredients
  • Pan of bread pudding
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


  • In a bowl beat together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, syrup and cinnamon.
  • In an un-greased bread pan put the cubes of French bread; pour egg mixture over the top, mix and let stand for 15 minutes.
  • Bake in a 325 degree oven for 55-60 minutes, until knife inserted towards the center comes out clean.
  • Run knife around the edge to loosen.
  • Optional items could be added like raisins, dried cherries or pecans.

  • Mix the egg, milk, vanilla, syrup and cinnamon in a shallow pie pan.
  • Slice bread pudding into about 1 inch slices.
  • Dredge in egg mixture and fry on griddle.
  • Turn when crisp on bottom.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
