CommonGround volunteer Melisa Konecky shares one of her favorite recipes with Pure Nebraska viewers. It is a cream sauce for meatballs.


Cream Sauce for Meatballs


  • 1 tbs butter
  • 2 tbs flour
  • ¼ tsp dried thyme
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 2 tbs minced parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2/3 cup whipping cream


  • In sauce-pan melt butter.
  • Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
  • Add broth and cream.
  • Bring to boil.
  • Cook until gravy consistency.
  • Drain meatballs.
  • Pour sauce over meatballs.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes.
