About Linda

Bertrand, Nebraska

I grew up as a small-town girl in a farming community in southwest Nebraska. I sometimes would help my grandpa move cattle a short distance when I was a young, but that was the extent of my farming experience until my husband and I started dating in 1984.  Since then, I have become more and more active in helping run our farm. In 1998 I started farming full-time and we started transitioning to certified organic.  Now, over 20 years later, I help run our organic farm along with my husband and our two grown children, who are the sixth generation to farm this land.

We have grown a variety of organic crops for our customers, including corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, oats, alfalfa, field peas and hemp, as well as growing produce for grocery stores such as lettuce, pea greens, carrots, tomatoes, garlic, onions, and peppers.  Because of our farming methods, which include a six-year rotation and the use of cover crops, we can give our customers what they want–food that is grown with no synthetic chemicals and using only non-GMO seed.

My hobbies include reading, hosting family meals, playing games, traveling and trying new foods.
