CommonGround volunteer Leslie Boswell shares her recipe for stuffed burgers with Pure Nebraska viewers.
Stuffed Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. of ground beef
- 1 large egg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon of your favorite hamburger spice
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients into the ground beef. It is good to store in the refrigerator for several hours.
- Form your patties in three-ounce sections or balls. Place the balls on a cookie sheet and flatten.
- Place your stuffing ingredients in the center. Be careful to not over stuff your burger.
- Place another 3-ounce flattened patty on top of your stuffed burger and pinch the sides together.
- Turn your grill on medium heat. Once the grill is ready, cook your burgers for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Make sure the burgers are cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
