I grew up on a dairy farm north of Neligh. My three siblings and I acquired the skills of caring for dairy cattle, growing high-quality hay, soybeans, and corn, and appreciating the simple joys of rural living. After high school, I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management with an emphasis in Ag Tourism. In college, I met my husband, a 4th generation farmer. After graduation, we moved to Hordville, NE to farm with his family. Together, we raise corn, soybeans, and three childern. We have a few bottle calves and chickens to teach our girls responsibility and all the fun livestock brings. The meat in the freezer and the farm-fresh eggs are an added benefit! In 2022, my husband, Aaron, and I participated in the American Soybean Association’s Young Leader Program. I have always been passionate about teaching where our food comes from. Farmers and ranchers constantly strive to learn the best ways to care for the land and livestock, producing a safe product for our consumers and families. I’m excited that CommonGround offers me the opportunity to do just that.
