HMaricleThis is a recipe that my Grandma Mag made for Christmas and Easter. It was a privilege to get to help her make them when you were old enough!

Now, we make Monster Cookies as a family with my young children for these same holidays and special events.

Here is the recipe and a video of my kids helping me make a big batch for our family and friends!

{Grandma Mag’s Monster Cookies}
12 Eggs
4 c. White Sugar (2 lb bag)
1 Tbsp. Syrup (Dark “Karo” works great)
1 lb. Butter (Margarine does work)
18 c. Oatmeal (42 oz)
1 lb M&M Candies
2 lb Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp Vanilla
8 tsp. Baking Soda
3 lbs. Peanut Butter
1 lb. Chocolate Chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix in a LARGE bowl the eggs, sugars, vanilla, syrup, soda, butter, then oatmeal, then M&M’s and chocolate chips. (We will often split this into 2 bowls, making a full recipe, but working with it like a 1/2 recipe to make it more manageable.)
3. Drop by ice cream scoops, about 6-9 cookies onto a cookie sheet. (Leave space, they spread while baking)
4. Bake 12 minutes. Do not overbake. (If possible, put 1/2 the batter into the fridge while waiting to bake more. I also recommend finding someone that has a double oven to make the process go faster if you have younger kids.)
