- 1 loaf of bread your choice
- 8 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup cream
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- Topping
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 to 1 stick butter
- Lightly grease or spray 9x13 baking pan.
- Cube enough bread to fill pan level full, pour egg/milk mixture over bread.
- Let set for at least an hour to soak bread.
- Refrigerating overnight is what makes this a great recipe.
- Cover with foil.
- To make the topping: Mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and crumble together with butter.
- Spread topping on egg and bread mixture right before baking.
- Bake 350 degrees 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 cover last 1/2 hour for softer bread set 15 minutes before serving
- It is tasty as is or served with syrup or whip cream
