French Toast Bites

  1. 1 loaf of bread your choice
  2. 8 eggs
  3. 2 cups milk
  4. 1/2 cup cream
  5. 3/4 cup sugar
  6. 2 teaspoons vanilla
  7. Topping
  8. 1/2 cup flour
  9. 3/4 cup brown sugar
  10. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  11. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  12. 3/4 to 1 stick butter
  1. Lightly grease or spray 9x13 baking pan.
  2. Cube enough bread to fill pan level full, pour egg/milk mixture over bread.
  3. Let set for at least an hour to soak bread.
  4. Refrigerating overnight is what makes this a great recipe.
  5. Cover with foil.
  6. To make the topping: Mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and crumble together with butter.
  7. Spread topping on egg and bread mixture right before baking.
  8. Bake 350 degrees 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 cover last 1/2 hour for softer bread set 15 minutes before serving
  9. It is tasty as is or served with syrup or whip cream
