  1. 6 apples 1/2-1" chunks, core and dice
  2. 1 1/4 cup sugar
  3. 1/2 cup flour
  4. 1/2 cup quick oats
  5. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  6. 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  7. 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
  1. Toss apple chunks in 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Pour in 7x11 baking dish lightly oiled.For the topping mix together the remaining sugar and cinnamon, flour, quick oats and salt.
  2. Cut in 1/4 cup(1/2 stick) butter. Spread over apples. Cover with foil. Bake 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
  1. Any variety of apple will work. I used Gala, No need to peel!!
  2. Longer baking makes apples softer and juicer.
  3. This can easily be made a day or 2 ahead then bake.
  4. Keeps several days in refrigerator
  5. Reheats well and freezes well.
