CommonGround Nebraska volunteers spent time at the Nebraska State Fair last weekend “Cookin’ with CommonGround”. They shared some of their favorite recipes and had an opportunity to share about their farms and how food goes from their farm to the grocery store.

The first demonstration was all about beef by Joan Ruskamp and Hilary Maricle. Joan demonstrated her Sweet & Sour Meatballs while Hilary cooked up her Grandma Mag’s Beef Stroganoff.

In the afternoon, the demo’s were all about the garden. Joan put together her Summer Salsa recipe while Linda Schwarz chopped up veggies from her Organic garden to make a Spaghetti Salad.
