- 6 apples 1/2-1" chunks, core and dice
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup quick oats
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
- Toss apple chunks in 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Pour in 7x11 baking dish lightly oiled. For the topping mix together the remaining sugar and cinnamon, flour, quick oats and salt.
- Cut in 1/4 cup(1/2 stick) butter. Spread over apples. Cover with foil. Bake 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
- Any variety of apple will work. I used Gala, No need to peel!!
- Longer baking makes apples softer and juicer.
- This can easily be made a day or 2 ahead then bake.
- Keeps several days in refrigerator
- Reheats well and freezes well.
